Enemies Roaming Around!



This one is a huge progress. Added Quest System, Enemies, Main Menu, Loading Menu and a new structure called Quarry. Now the cubes can gather stone as well, player can do quests and enemies attack any one that is not their kind.

ShapeWarz Update: Enemy Done

Great news! Enemies are now present in the Big Cube. They just roam around in their place but once a Town Cube or Player has been spotted they start to thrust attack them. When the enemy hit its target it reduces the targets health. The Town Cubes disappears when dead. Will give death condition to the player once the Main Menu is done. Will make a video of the update. Getting very close in releasing the first demo! Now will work with the Main Menu.

Resource Gathering



The player can gain resources now. The player gain coins from the Inn and wood from LumberCamp.

ShapeWarz Update: Resource Management and GUI Modification

Now the player can gether resources. For now just did coins and wood. The player gets coin when the cubes takes up a place in the Inn and also after certain amount of time the Inn gives coin. When Lumber Camp is built the cubes gather wood.

Improved the HUD and Menu. The resources are shown at the top bar. When esc key is pressed the menu pops up and the player has the choice of saving, loading etc. For now the player can only exit the game.

ShapeWarz Update: Path Movement, Tree Cutting and Code Modification

 

Have been working hard all day and night! Ok here is the Update, there are actually three updates:

1. The cubes now goes to the lumberjack camp and becomes a lumberjack. Once one cube is a lumberjack it then randomly chooses a tree, goes to the tree and starts to cut it down then brings back the wood resource to the lumberjack camp.

2. The cubes follows the road leading to the tree instead of going in one straight line. This really looks good. This part really took time was making a small problem in the code but fixed it.

3. Modified the code a bit.

Now will work with the HUD. Once the HUD looks better will post another video of the game.

ShapeWarz Update: Code Modified

Had to modify the code a bit. Some parts started to get messy so had to modify and now the code looks better and it is easier to understand.

ShapeWarz Update: Added Lumberjack Camp

Made a Lumberjack Camp model and added it in the game. Now player can make Lumberjack Camps in the game. Need to make the cubes to interact with the Lumberjack camp and make them cut trees.

Town Cubes!



Here are the town cubes moving around and observing the structure.

ShapeWarz Update: Added Town People and gave them brains!

Awesome news. One of the major feature of the game is almost done! Added town people which are friendly A.I. These cubes just roam around in the build site for now. When ever they see any new structure they go there and observer it. Will give structure functionality in the next update but TODAYS UPDATE IS GREAT!!! Will post a video of the game.

Adding Structures



This video shows the updated adding structure part. When "B" is pressed the build menu slides down and then the player can select the structure to build.

Great News. Just finished adding Inn anywhere inside the build area. Finished the build menu yesterday used JME3 nifty to make. This is awesome. One of the main feature of the game is done. Will post a video of the game with these latest features.

Just finished making a player character and moving it around. Added a Chase Camera now the camera follows around the player. Most of the basic parts are done now will add game features and functionality. I will upload a video of the player character moving around.

ShapeWarz Update: Test Ground

Finished making a test ground for the game. Added trees to it aswell. Now will work with Character(Player), Buildings and Building Interaction. Oh I forgot to mentioned what I was using to make this game so here is the list:
1. JMonkey Engine 3 - Game Engine.
2. Blender 2.61 - Model Creation.
3. Gimp 2.8 - Texturing.
4. Microsoft Expression Design 3 - Texturing (For Basic Stuff).

Story Update and Game Update

Ok I thought it thoroughly, i am going to make it into rpg rts.

Story:

In the planet Big Cube there lived beings of cube shape called Cubes. Every thing was going well for these beings. They were flourishing and prospering. One day chaos broke out and every nations were in wars white each other. Soon after years of battles and wars the Cubes lost everything. The Cubes soon forgot what they were fighting about but it was too late. There were no cities, factories or any structures any more. Many nations has fallen. Many lives lost. Now the Cubes must start all over again and start to rebuild their cities from scratch. Many Cube leaders are formed through out the planet to rebuild what was lost long time ago.

Game Play:

You play as a Cube in RPG mode. You can customize your Cube as you like. You start of being a leader of a destroyed town. You can build houses, markets, walls, barracks and many more necessary buildings inside your town. Must fend of unwanted threats from other towns, warlords or near by threats. Do quest and level up to make your character one of the strongest in the land and also get money and upgrade your town, weapon or armor. Make you town the most successful town. Capture new towns or find a spot to create new town. Put a mayor in charge that town or you control it.

Project: ShapeWarz

This will be my first game that I will try to publish. Up until now I have been making games but did not publish them so this is going to be my first. For now the game is called Project: ShapeWarz. It is not the official name of the game yet. I am planning of making it a RTS game. Upto now this is the story but I will make more updates on it.

Introduction:

In ShapeWarz there are intelligent cube shaped beings in the planet Big Cube.  They have mastered the inter galactic travelling. They have traveled to many solar systems and colonized my life supporting planets. As the expansion of their race grew across the galaxy it was difficult for the Big Cube Government (BCG) to keep control of these colonized systems. Chaos started to spread through out the colonized world that were at the edge of the expansion as BCG had little to no control of that place at all. This was a huge threat to BCG because the chaos could spread in the main planet Big Cube. So BCG started an operation that will stop this chaos and bring back peace once again to this race.
